In the movie, Miles Morales, the main character, has found his way into the subway and gets bitten radioactive spider. This movie offers a unique animation style similar to that of a comic book. Animators used textboxes and comic -style art for explosions. This creative movie also inspired the instagram art community to create their own “spidersonas”, or a version of spiderman that varies based on an individual character’s powers, color palette, and personality.
Into the Spider-verse is listed under Comedic Action Animation: with light hearted humor, there are also heartfelt messages intended to draw the viewer into the story. The characters are balanced out with their own problems/flaws as well as their strengths, leading the way to amazing character development throughout the movie. The movie has a very good flow with no plot holes–every question I had throughout this movie was answered. Overall, I would give this movie a 5/5: it is a must watch movie.
