During 3rd period on Friday, March 4 at West Albany Highschool, emergency alarms rang and all students evacuated The School. A sprinkler outside of the staff room went off unexpectedly, causing flooding outside the room and in part of C hall.
“The Sprinkler right there actually is heat sensitive, and it’s right next to a hot bank that’s blowing hot air,” Custodian Chris Priest explained. “So it got a little weakened, [which] just set it off. And that’s what set off the fire alarm. These doors shot and all that most of the water was right here So we went from here all the way down to that and we just had to open the water doors and start shoving water up.”
