The West Albany Environmental Club is running again this year and is looking for more members. The club is for students who have an interest in nature and helping the environment. “It’s very student-motivated,” says science teacher and club advisor Gareth Engler. There are currently about 15 students in the club.
“We brainstormed ideas to make the school a better and cleaner place,” sophomore club member Priyasa Paudel said. The environmental club is working to make the school a more environmentally friendly place and is planning on doing plantings and cleanups while working with the Calapooia Watershed Council.
The club is held in Engler’s room, B5, on Tuesdays during lunch. Everyone is welcome to join. If you have any interest in joining or have any questions you can talk to Mr. Engler ([email protected]) or junior Reagan Williams.
