In the fall of 2024, Peely’s Teacher Supply House opened up to GAPS teachers in K-5 and will soon open up to all GAPS schools.
According to the Albany Public Schools Foundation, Peely’s Teacher Supply House is a way for teachers to get resources sent to them from organizations that have extra school supplies. Since the house opened up, they have saved teachers $10,450. The way that teachers get the money is by placing orders online so that they can get the resources; 4,840 orders have been placed by teachers so far.
Peely’s Teacher Supply House also offers grants and these grants can do different things in different months. For example, in the fall, the grants are for classrooms and supplies needed for the classroom, but in October, teachers come together to meet about the grants and the supplies that can come from them. Though the organization is primarily for teachers to get supplies, they also offer chances for seniors to get scholarships from the organization.
Overall, Peely’s Teacher Supply House can be a great resource for teachers and students alike and will hopefully reduce the amount of money teachers have to spend on resources.
