WW: What made you want to do coaching?
McGinty: “It’s my passion. That’s what I love to do.”
WW: What position did you play?
McGinty: “I played safety and linebacker.”
WW: What does a typical practice look like?
McGinty: “The starters go over to the stadium about three o’clock after school. They, [the starters], then get warm ups going. When done with that, we split up to offense and defense. I coach outside linebackers so we usually do 15 minutes of individual work then go back together as a team. Then we get done around 5:30.”
WW: How do you connect to kids differently than others?
McGinty: “I think it varies for every kid. I think as a coach, you have to talk to each kid differently to build those personal connections. I try to connect with the kids and let them know that I care about them on and off the field.”
