“Locks. Lights. Out of sight.” On Oct. 24, these words were not repeated over classroom intercoms as a scheduled lockdown drill got called off at the last moment – the reason – a lack of available officers from the Albany Police Department.
On Oct. 24, a lockdown drill was scheduled during the 4th period at 9:40 a.m. However, before 2nd period was over, teachers received an email stating that the lockdown drill was canceled and would no longer be happening due to a lack of available police officers for the drill. The drill will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.
