Dora the Explorer: Dora’s World Adventure!
(Season 4: Episode 19)
Show Rating – 4.4/10
Episode Rating – 9.7/10
Episode Summary: Dora forms an unlikely alliance with Swiper the Fox to return friendship bracelets to her friends from around the world and save “Friendship Day.”

Naima Nguyen: 4.5/10 – I really liked the whole concept that Dora the Explorer is a good tourist who respects other cultures. It’s definitely a great way for young children to learn about several different cultures, but as an older viewer, this episode can feel like a drag at times.
Chance Young: 6/10 – While the episode drags on repetitively to an older audience, that doesn’t mean the message behind it isn’t one I can’t appreciate. For a younger audience, teaching them to explore and respect other cultures is a great message. It also encourages children to make friends diversely with other groups of people. It’s for this message that I rate it higher than if I rated it purely for entertainment value.
Peppa Pig: Holding the Baby
(Season 8: Episode 61)
Show Rating – 6.2/10
Episode Rating – 9.1/10
Episode Summary: Peppa Pig overcomes fears, challenges, and broken eggs to learn how to hold her baby sister, Evie.

Naima Nguyen: 6/10 – It was educational, but the message felt slightly unclear. Peppa’s behavior was somewhat frustrating and amusing, but realistic for a four-year old. Overall, they tried their best given the episode length they were given.
Chance Young: 6/10 – There wasn’t anything terrible about the episode, and it is useful for children with baby siblings/family members, but due to that, the message isn’t as far reaching.
Teen Titans Go: DC Leader Swap
(Season 9: Episode 20)
Show Rating – 5.8/10
Episode Rating – 9.1/10
Episode Summary: Joker and Robin swap teams as a part of a gameshow. Joker goes even crazier trying to lead the Titans. Robin leads Joker’s henchmen, helping them find their passion in dogwashing.

Naima Nguyen: 7/10 – I felt bad for Joker the entire episode, and some moments gave me second hand frustration. But I thought that despite its fast pacing, the episode had humor that was actually pretty funny at times, and I appreciated the message that everyone deserves to have a relationship they feel safe in.
Chance Young: 7/10 – I was honestly surprised that the Joker was even in this episode, I was always under the assumption that mainline heroes and villains weren’t shown in Teen Titans Go. Other than that, the episode was entertaining at least, I can’t exactly rate it much higher. Though the fact that Robin would be a good leader with literally any other team is really funny to me.
