What has changed since the students left?

How has the construction at West Albany progressed?

Construction of the new building at West Albany started in March 2019 and has been going ever since. Rich Engle, the assistant principal, has an inside look at where the construction is at and where it is currently going. “With the construction currently, we have finished all structural steel and the walls have been completed,” Engel said.

On the right, there’s the commons building in construction and on the left there’s the theater. Many new buildings like these two are being built throughout West Albany. “The hope for the completion of the project is January, but it could be longer because of Covid-19,” Engel said.

Above is a rendering of the finished product. What new buildings are coming to West Albany? “There are three main buildings coming to West Albany,” Engel said, “the commons area, the performing arts center, and the auxiliary gym. Other buildings are a new kitchen, training room, health room, video and audio lab, band and choir areas, front office, and new locker rooms under the stadium.”

What comes after phase one construction, and what will be added to the school? “The second phase will have to have another bond,” Engle said, “but once that’s done, parts of the school will be demolished and completely rebuilt.”
