Around the halls of WAHS you might find general materials like trash or school equipment in nooks and crannies around the school, however, something special is among them. If you search for them, you might be able to find a few papers with hearts on them with a little bit of information about Latin America and its relationship to Valentine’s day. Once you’re done reading them though, you can turn that paper in at Anne Timm´s Classroom and get a Hershey’s kiss.

¨I wanted to reach students who weren’t in my classes. So one night I was just thinking ´oh, I could put hearts up,use that to learn, and then bring it [to me] for a little Hershey Kiss motivator,¨ Timm said.

According to Timm, there were a total of 64 hearts hidden throughout the school in easy to find places. There could be information on them such as a notable difference between Latin America´s inclusion when it comes to relationships during Valentines Day, which Timm states has a greater focus then in the US when it comes to friendships and celebrating them.

¨I just thought it would be a fun way to educate students about Valentine’s Day, which is a very special and widely celebrated day in Latin America,¨ Timm said
